The Day Globe respectfully so-licits an advertisement, of some nature, from every legitimate home interest or business for the special illustrated edition, of December 5. Every effort will be made to make it worthy of the occasion and of direct money benefit to advertisers. Use of its columns will pay every man, firm or corporation so using them. There are reasons, and sound ones, outside of cold busi-ness, that might with propriety be cited as arguments to induce ad-vertising, but they are not cited. The Day-Globe is essentially a home paper, serving every home in-terest cheerfully and unselfishly and it would be proud for once in its history, and on an occasion so notable as the events of December 5, will be, to have every home in-terest represented in its advertising columns—a recognition that the people of other cities accord to their faithful and capable home papers. The edition will be essen-tially creditable. This paper has never “slouched” its work when presenting special efforts. Rates will be reasonable and business is solicited. WILL AWARD THREE PRIZES For the Best Displays on the Fifth Prox-imo. Prizes will be awarded on the occasion of the Trades Display as follows : First, for the finest and most elaborate display. Second, for the most unique and novel dis-play. Third, for the display the most indicative of the business it represents. Mr. Tom Padgitt states that any church or charitable organization that wishes to put up a restaurant on the 5th at Padgitt’s park for charitable or religous purposes, are at liberty to do so, and can se-lect any stand they wish. The PABST BREWING CO has been awarded the highest points of merit on each article they manufacture, at the World’s Columbian Exposi-tion. Each separate beer has defeated all similar beer3 of its respective class, Pabst Hofbrau scored higher than the Royal Hofbra of Munich, and the “Best” Tonic scored one hundred points of perfection, an altitude of merit supreme and unequalled. This gives to Pabst, Milwaukee. A Victory Over the Entire World, consisting of an award on ten separate products. A victory complete and absolutely UNPARALLELED IN THE HISTORY OF EXPOSITIONS. This announcement of the first and only report of the judges was made officially for the first and only time on Wednesday, November 15th, 1893, at 5 30 p-m., by John Boyd Thacher, Chairman on Awards—hence all previous statements from every source have been unauthorized and mis-leading. ISAAC SIMMONS, WHOLESALE DEALER. TO WACO HOUSEKEEPERS From the Ladies of “The Home" Assocla-tion. The Home association asks the housekeepers of our town to send cast off clothes, old shawls and wraps and remnants of provisions from thhir pantries to the “Home.” It is our distributing point, and! all the surplus money that is con- i tributed now will have to go for fuel. There are many things in every household that would help the work. There are so many fam-ilies on our list that we cannot help all unless the kind hearted women of Wa jo come to our aid. Send us old rags for carpet rags. We have two or three old women that are probably with us for the winter and we will have them make carpets for the new home, or for sale. At the Doll Which will be held by the Home Association at cor ner ot Eighth ; streets from the 15 a e 20th ot December, will be shown a Booth ot those beau-tiful paper goods, bon bon boxes, lamp shades, dolls, etc. that were so much Admired at the World’s Fair. There will be a ten cent table of all sorts of FANCY GOODS, and every variety and price of Dolls. Wait for your Christmas Presents until you VISIT THIS BAZAAR CHRISTMAS TIME Why does everybody want Climax Pills because they always produce a pleasant cathartic effect; because they do not nauseate the stomach nor gripe the bowels; because they are a positive cure for constipation and prevent all disorders arising from it. We are offering special bargains in diamonds. Levinski’s. Don’t Read This. Dyspepsia in most cases is caus-ed by constipation or allowing the bowels to remain torpid and may be prevented by a timely use of Climax Pills. The Waco Show Case Factory is now ready to make show cases to order on short notice; also store and bank fixtures. Estimates fur-nished upon application. 108 North Fifth street, A. Coleman, proprie-tor. The Best Plaster. Dampen a piece of flannel with Chamberlain’s Pain Balm and bind it on over the seat of pain. It is better than any plaster. When the lungs are sore such an application on the chest and another on the back, be-tween tbe shoulder blades, will often prevent pneumonia. There is noth-ing so good for a lame back or a pain in the side. A sore throat can nearly always be cured in one night by ap-plying a flannel bandage dampened with Pain Balm. 40 cent bottles for sale by H. C. Risher and E. E. Dis-muke, druggists. Mrs. Susie Treadaway’s Certificate. I have always been reluctant about having my name brought into publicity, but trusting that the following statement may bene-fit others I most willingly do so now. For years I’ve suffered the most excruciating agony from neu-ralgia. Hundreds of dollars had been paid by my. parents and hus- i band in trying to get me cured. One and all the physicians would administer opiates—the use of which I often remonstrated against only to be told that it was all that could be done to relieve me. When I realized that I had formed the morphine habit I commenced using every effort to quit it only to be prostrated by suffering. I saw ad-vertisements of different cures for the opiate habit, but I knew that unless the disease could be cured it was useless to attempt to cure •the morphine habit. In seeking to get me cured Dr. D. C. Jones was recommended to my parents. They called and consulted with him about my condition and were so favorably impressed with his mode of treatment that they sent for me. From the beginning I commenced to improve. The doc-tor had me off of morphine in five days, and in two weeks time was cured of the habit. I feel that Dr. D. C. Jones deserves more praise than mankind can give him, and a higher reward than earth can afford him. To those who are afflicted with the degrading liquor or opium habit I urge to come and be freed both body and soul. Mrs Susie Treadaway, Sulphur Springs, Texas, November 21, 1893. Climax Pills act promptly on the liver and bowels, arousing the liver from torpor and congestion restoring its healthy circulation and secretion. The Day Globe respectfully so-licits
an advertisement, of some
nature, from every legitimate home
interest or business for the special
illustrated edition, of December 5.
Every effort will be made to make
it worthy of the occasion and of
direct money benefit to advertisers.
Use of its columns will pay every
man, firm or corporation so using
them. There are reasons, and
sound ones, outside of cold busi-ness,
that might with propriety be
cited as arguments to induce ad-vertising,
but they are not cited.
The Day-Globe is essentially a
home paper, serving every home in-terest
cheerfully and unselfishly
and it would be proud for once in
its history, and on an occasion so
notable as the events of December
5, will be, to have every home in-terest
represented in its advertising
columns—a recognition that the
people of other cities accord to
their faithful and capable home
papers. The edition will be essen-tially
creditable. This paper has
never “slouched” its work when
presenting special efforts. Rates
will be reasonable and business is
solicited.
WILL AWARD THREE PRIZES
For the Best Displays on the Fifth Prox-imo.

most indicative of the business it
represents.

The “New York Talent” is speak-ing
of the Schubert Male Quartette
says:
“The performance was one of
rare excellence—a musical treat.
A more carefully graded quartette
cannot be imagined. Miss
MacCorkle, in her reading and
whistling solos, is that balance
which affords variety without des-troying
the tone and harmoney.
Miss Clark’s violin playing is mas-terly.”—
