WHO IS RON ROSENBAUM?
By Edgar F. Tatro
As 3 teacher of horror literature I am aware that the most
famous of all parasites in fiction is Dracula, a clever, erudite
aristocf-ot, who with gracious charm captivated his admirers; then
with_equally surreptitious agility, he struck out at his unsuspecting
victimii leaving them defenseless.
I recently discovered in a glossy, southern variety magazine
called "Texas Monthly", the November, I983 issue, that non-fiction
can harbor a similar spineless ]eech who politely and attentively
interviews hard working, dedicated and sincere political researchers,
then concocts a twisted portrayal of their diligent efforts,
thereby sadistically sucking them dry, through ridicule, to obtain
his journalistic fee. Who is this free lancing Transyl.vanian
counterpart feasting on JFK assassination critics? vVho wrote
the beastly article, "Still On the Case"? V/ho the Hell is
Ron Rosenbaum?
Rosenbaum asks his readers to trust his judgment and
powers of discrimination, that as a guide he is tne El Exigents,
a metaphorical all knowing deity of assassination mysteries,
whose evaluations wi]l be accurate and-beyond reproach. Yes ,-
Virginia, Howard Cose]l will be. forced, to take a ba_ck seat.to.....
this new king of pompous, self-coronated ignorance. Here is
a true parasite who makes his money be judging the research
of JFK sleuths, but what are his credentials to do so?
rid Rosenbaum risk to pub] i.sh powerful editorials exposing
the injustices of November ?.2., I963 in a little Texas newspaper
week after week as Penn Jones did? Bid he singlchandedly travel
across this country and Europe and defy FBI surveillance and mass
media ridicule to reveal on radio talk shows what the federal government
had chosen to hide as Mark I,ane did? Has he conducted
a tireless attempt to ascertain the ultimate verities of the
acoustics tests as Gary Mack and Steve Barber have done, albeit
from opposing viewpoints? Did he search and compile a plethora
of rare photographic evidence and ana].yze its significance for
the populace as Richard Spraguc did? Did he organize a human data
collecting system as Paul Hoch has done cal]ed "Echoes of Conspiracy"
so that history will have a thorough record of that ugly day and
its aftermath? Did he publicly defy his eight colleagues, "The
Medical Establishment", as forensic pathologist, Dr. Cyril Wecht
