Winfred Moore attended meetings of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Peace Committee, [1985]; issues facing the SBC in the early-1980s; the convention of 1985; Moore and Sherman being approached to become members of the Peace Committee; Martin being allowed to record some of the Peace Committee meetings and writing articles for Baptist Press; role of Charles Pickering; important individuals in the Peace Committee; Moore’s and Sherman’s feelings about their experience on the Peace Committee; feeling that the Peace Committee was used as a tool of the fundamentalist faction; noticing that members were easily recognized as conservative, moderate, uncommitted; specific differences between the members.
