Monday Afternoon.
My dear Sir,
I have this moment received a note from Mr Dickens to the effect that “he will make a point of being at home on Wednesday next at one o’clock, and will be happy to see you.” I write to apprise you at once, in order to prevent your arrangements being unnecessarily broken for that day,-though I shall, I hope, see you to-morrow and tell you how much pleasure your visit of this morning gave us all.
Ever yours faithfully,
R Browning.
